The Courchevel ski area also includes the tree-lined village of La Tania. There is a regular free bus service that runs betweens these resorts so you can explore the whole of the Courchevel ski area.

Alongside Val d'Isere and Megeve, Courchevel is one of the wealthiest resorts in the French Alps, you often catch celebrities sliding down the slopes and stopping at one of the world's famous restaurants. One of the best features of the Courchevel area is the hugely impressive altiport; it was used in the James Bond film Golden Eye, and planes can regularly been seen tackling the daring take off and landing.

Courchevel and Les Trois Vallees offer arguably the best terrain for ski progression in the whole of the Alps (See Piste Map). Aside from the fantastic valley views, the area has everything from fantastic, seperated beginner areas, and gentle but exciting treelined blue runs. On top of that there is of course the infamous 'le grand colouir' if a challenging black run takes your fancy.

Courchevel's restaurants present you with a tantalizing, both on and off the mountain. Many of these are very famous and attract very wealthy clients. Due to this we advise always booking a table in advance to avoid disappointment!

If you are looking for a top gourmet meal, look no further than the fabulous Chalet du Pierre, situated on the green piste of Verdon, easily accessible to all standards of skier. It often attracts famous cliental such as the Pitts and Beckhams!

If a snack is what you're looking for, then the Patisserie inside The Forum offers great panninis, to 'ski and go'. For a meal that offers a well-earned rest at reasonable prices, then visit Kalico in 1850 under the bridge for great burgers. If you ski alway the way down to La Tania, then the Ski Lodge offers good food to 'fill you up' over lunch, or alternatively if you fancy splashing out, try the excellent Taiga.

      Courchevel ski resort by night

Apres-ski options vary according to which resort height you stay at, with by far the most happening at 1850, where its possible to play 'spot the celebrity' most night!

Courchevel 1850 has the only clubs; Les Caves and La Grange are open till dawn, with the Kalico Bar also staying open late. For apres, the hotspots include La Saulire/Jacks, L'Accord, and TJs. For a more relaxed drink, we suggest you the cosy bar Piggy's.

There are cinemas and bridge clubs available at both 1850 and 1650. Classical music concerts and piano recitals are staged throughout the season. 1550 has limited apres ski but the weekly evening descents on the 2km long toboggan run is usually worth attending, if only for the greatly needed mulled wine afterwards!

1650 has some great apres-ski bars including the Bubble Bar and The Bearded Clown. Le Praz has a great atmosphere with live bands playing on Tuesday and Friday evenings in L'escourchevel (Pizzeria).

Or in La Tania, try apres-ski in the Taiga, where our very own singer/songwriter ski-instructor, Sam Burrows, plays every Thursday!
