We’re gearing up for the first week of summer skiing here in Tignes.
What could be better than exploring the glacier on your skis or snowboard in the morning, and enjoying the summer activities during the afternoon? (Even if that does include basking alongside the lake with a cold beverage)
Here in Tignes we have 20km pistes on offer including a snowpark and cross country track.
The lifts open this Saturday 24th June with the Funicular giving access to the foot of the glacier and the Vanoise chairlift and Roslin t-bar lifts giving acces to the skiing, lifts open from 7:15am to 1pm each day.
From the 1st July to 6th August open hours are the same and there will be more lifts and pistes on offer with the addition of the remaining lifts coming into operation.
Lift pass prices: Adults – €25 per day/ Children – €20 per day
You can also check out the glacier on foot with access via the Funciular :
From June 24th to 30th 2017, from 7.15am to 1pm (last lift down: 1.30pm)
From July 1st to August 6th 2017, from 7.15am to 3.45pm (last lift down: 4.35pm)
From August 7th to September 1st 2017, from 9.30am to 3.45pm (last lift down: 4.35pm).
Pedestarian prices: Adults – €10 per day/ Children – €5 per day
Val d’Isere has also been open for summer skiing for a short time this month.
Glacier du Pissaillas has been open this week with local race clubs and skiing enthusiasts taking advantage. Although not as famous as the skiing on the nearby Grande Motte glacier, the Pissaillas Glacier offers good early summer skiing. It’s accessed by road from Val d’Isere village using the famous Col de l’Iseran road which is the highest paved road in Europe.
Stay tuned for more summer information, pictures and edits via social media.
